Mitchell R. Cohen is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CrossMark Funding, LLC, a Radnor, PA-based investment banking/merchant banking firm that assists entrepreneurs and growth and mature companies in expansion capital equity and debt funding and financing, sell-side transactions and acquisition targeting and funding. CrossMark represents companies at the forefront of their industries, including the sports and entertainment, pharmaceutical, renewable and “hard” energy, military contracting and technology sectors. The CrossMark executive team includes attorneys, accomplished entrepreneurs, analysts and researchers and marketing and public relations specialists.
CrossMark has the contacts and ability to bring to its clients a combination of funding and financing options to fulfill its clients’ capital stack needs, including preferred equity and mezzanine and senior debt funding. In its sports and entertainment practice, CrossMark first spends significant resources in reviewing all aspects of its clients’ business (television show, movie, song, novel, software program, etc.) and financial condition and projections and then identify its clients’ funding needs. In the sports and entertainment industry, the required research and due diligence may include the sale of intellectual property rights or license funding opportunities, determination of revenue sharing strategies, joint venture opportunities and the like. After this is accomplished, CrossMark then matches the clients’ funding needs with its S&E industry funding contacts, which may include institutional lenders, ABL lenders, family offices, venture capital companies and private and foreign S&E dedicated investors. CrossMark also works closely with its clients’ entertainment and/or corporate counsel in affecting private placement transactions involving both equity and debt structures.
Once the clients’ funding needs are identified, CrossMark In its well-established the sports and entertainment niche, CrossMark’s clients include (i) the producers of a nationally syndicated sports talk show, (ii) singers and songwriters that have funded their writing, recording and production costs through dedicated entertainment funds, (iii) the funding of locally-filmed movies produced by yet to be acclaimed movie companies; and (iv) entertainers that have appeared on reality shows such as America’s Got Talent.
